Secretary’s Report
Minutes of the March 16, 2011 meeting were distributed to those present.
Motion wasmade by Tom DePaoli and seconded by Charles Lemons to accept the minutes as presented. Discussion: Corrections made and vote all in favor.
Treasurer’s Report

Presidents Report
Torrington update and discussion
AFSCME attorney has corresponded with City; awaiting response
Conference call with AFSCME and three US Senators
Call in to save Medicare from cuts.
WEP and GPO brought up by John Burke
AFSCME has program to do call outs to legislators
One three year term Trustee position election will be held at June meeting.
June meeting will be held in Waterbury.
Discussion on eMail address updates; many undeliverable; files will be updated
Discussion on membership cards; lists will be checked here and at AFSCME
Organizing
Cheshire still working on enrolling their retired members.
President Burke will ask Jeff Matchett and Tony Zona to encourage the active locals to
enroll their retirees when they visit the locals.
Council 15 convention will be held in June in Atlantic City. President will be attending.
Campaign with the middle class; AFSCME education program discussed.
Web site update discussed.

Motion to suspend July and August meeting of general membership.
Seconded: Discussion: Participation minimal due to summer vacations.

Tony Griego: Discussion on legislation
Lateral transfer/hiring of police officers.
Recertification of police officers.
Assault on hospital security guards.
Liability insurance Jacoby and Meyers
J & M made a presentation to the Council 15 Executive Board.
Discussion: No interest of those present to entertain a meeting with J & M.
